SANDESTIN

General Overview

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the largest, gated resort community in Northwest Florida. Situated both north and south of US Highway 98, Sandestin is approximately 5 miles east of Destin and 25 miles west of Panama City Beach and offers 65 neighborhoods on 2,400 acres.

Architecture

Each neighborhood in Sandestin offers its own blend of architectural styles that range from contemporary cottages and villas to elaborate Mediterranean and Tuscan-inspired estates.   The entire community is known for its lushly landscaped common areas which are owned and meticulously maintained by the owners through the Sandestin Owners Association.

Amenities

As its name implies, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the most complete resort community on the Emerald Coast. With more than seven miles of beach and bay front as well as four championship golf courses, Sandestin caters equally to recreation on land or water.  While some amenities are accessible to the public, such as its shops, bars and restaurants at Baytowne Wharf and Grand Boulevard, the Baytowne Marina, or golf at The Raven Golf Club, Baytowne Golf Club and The Links Course, others such as the private Sandestin Beach Club, Burnt Pine Golf Club and Tennis Center are available to owners by membership only.

The Sandestin Beach Club offers its members private beach access, free umbrellas and chairs, a full-service restaurant, a year-round heated swimming pool, a snack bar, private restrooms and changing rooms, as well as incredible views of the Gulf of Mexico. It is also a social center for members hosting bridge and canasta groups as well as numerous theme parties and events.

The Village of Baytowne Wharf and Grand Boulevard are town center communities at Sandestin. Baytowne Wharf offers specialty shops and boutiques, award-winning restaurants as well as exciting nightlife while Grand Boulevard offers a selection of respected retail stores and popular dining establishments that include Mitchell’s Fish Market, Tommy Bahama’s Tropical Cafe, Cantina Laredo, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and PF Chang’s China Bistro, as well as a Publix Supermarket.

The Baytowne Marina is a full-service, 98-slip facility that capably accommodates vessels ranging from 30 to 140 feet on a daily to yearly basis and provides personal marina concierge services.

The state-of-the-art Tennis Center at Sandestin offers 15 world-class courts in hard and Hydrogird clay and has been voted among the Top 50 US Tennis Resorts by Tennis Magazine and Number 13 in the Top 100 Tennis Resorts in the US by Tennis Resorts Online. It includes a club house, private courts, ladies tennis and child programs, as well as a well stocked clothing and equipment shop.

Sandestin golf courses have consistently ranked among the best golf in Florida. Merits include a Golf Magazine Silver Medal Award and Meetings and Conventions Gold Tee Award among the more than 30 it has received. Publications including Golf Digest, Golf for Women and Birmingham magazine have posted exemplary ratings. The Sandestin Golf Academy uses the same technology available to PGA Tour players and offers weekly clinics, individual instruction and special instructional events.

Amenities

Ownership opportunities in Sandestin range from studio condos priced under $100K to magnificent, bay-front mansions priced over $5M. There is a mix of vacation-rental, rental-restricted and non-rental properties among its condominium, townhouse, villa and single-family neighborhoods. Destin Real Estate Company specializes in the listing, marketing and sale of properties in Sandestin, specifically in the guard-gated, country club neighborhood of Burnt Pine and the Gulf-front and Gulf view condominiums of Southwinds, Westwinds and One Beach Club Drive.
